Plunder

Here’s an animation I did for my 3DSMax class. Can’t say i had the best time with 3ds max…coming from a maya background. I think i did prefer 3dsMax’s UVing over Maya’s … but having to spend more time now with Maya, i’ll just stick to and master maya’s uving tool.

As for this project, i modeled the ship, animated the ‘ocean’ (lol) and the flag and the sail..textured everything on my own..and hmmm.. afterrr completing everrything, and gaining more understanding with 3d modeling, i realized i limited myself for like, the texture size i could use for the ship…i’ve been tunneling myself into the whole ‘for games’ concept with low-poly and budget textures, that i forgot in a pre-rendered (non-real time) animation like this project, i dont have any limits or budget, other than how long it will take for my pc to render out. So i could have definately improved on the quality of the textures and much higher-res model for the ship! darn. maybe one day i’ll have the time to get back into this project and re-work everything hehe.
